Meet Tana Thompson
Prior to Immersion 2021, I was recently separated, and working as a full-time Registered Massage Therapist. I needed to do something for myself that brought me joy, and I stumbled across Surface Pattern Design.
When Immersion opened up, I jumped at the chance to learn Adobe Illustrator. I knew that this opportunity would open windows and doors for me on so many levels. What I learned by taking Immersion is to enjoy the process. The skills I have learned have been life-changing for me and have broadened my own identity.
After healing from Ulnar Nerve Compression at the wrists due to working as a massage therapist, I have now completed two large collections and two micro collections - all to be available soon on Spoonflower. I created a website with a portfolio, and my focus is now on my art business.
My advice for anyone sitting on the fence would be: Open the door for yourself and walk through it. There are so many opportunities for you in this fabulous creative world and you will find wonderful people on your journey that will be there to support you and cheer you on.
