Meet Sharon Gunawan

The Immersion Course was so concise, yet simple to follow. It is just beautifully made in content and style. I love that I can always easily refer back when I need a helping hand or just to learn another technique or two! 

Before my journey in SPD, I was a stay-at-home mom, raising 4 babies at home. I needed a creative outlet so I began teaching myself to sew. I was intrigued by the designs on fabric and that inspired me to dive into the world of surface pattern design. I then started a fabric shop and slowly began creating my own designs to stay unique. 

Because I was self-taught in Illustrator, I wanted to hone my skills and decided to join the Immersion Course. With a fabric shop on the side, I didn't know if I had the time to devote to learning, so I waited for another year to pass. In 2022, I knew it was my time and I am so thankful I jumped in and didn't look back.

Immersion has truly made me into a well-rounded designer. I was able to not only develop my skills and work more efficiently and "correctly" but surround myself with other creatives that were doing the same thing and a fabulous team of experts that was always there to support and offer feedback. Since completing the course, it has given me the confidence and wings to fly higher in the fabric world. I would forever recommend this course to all those with a creative heart and a desire to learn. Bonnie teaches like no one else and you can feel the care, depth, and love that goes into every part of Immersion.
