Meet Nikki Sweeney

Before I discovered Immersion or surface pattern design, I had a career in the fashion industry in NYC. I gave it up about 6 years ago to stay home with my young kids and focus on a graphic design side hustle. During the pandemic, I joined Skillshare to brush up on my art skills and this is where I discovered Bonnie! 

I freelance as a graphic designer and loved working in Adobe Illustrator, but didn’t love what I was creating. When I discovered surface pattern design, a spark was lit and there was no looking back! I took Immersion to learn all things surface pattern design. While I was so excited about the course in 2021, I was very anxious about my artistic ability. I didn’t go to art school and definitely didn’t have an art practice. I was a designer, not an artist. 

Bonnie not only taught me to rethink the typical idea of an artist but helped me believe I was one and could be comfortable calling myself an artist. This mindset is what I cherish most about Immersion. Since taking the course, I have a daily art practice, I am working on a collection, I share my work on social media, and I am currently building my branded website. 
If anyone is on the fence about joining Immersion, don’t hesitate. It’s life-changing! I don’t mean that you will take the course and everything will change overnight, but it will give you all the tools you need to reach your biggest goals and your wildest dreams.
