Surface design is my dream job-one I didn't even know existed until I stumbled upon Bonnie Christine. I've always loved creating art, but as a young person I knew little about careers that could use that creativity, so instead I studied Psychology and went on to work with children with Autism until I had my own. I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom for several years, and just when I thought it might be time to reenter the workforce, the pandemic hit. I had always dreamed of working from home, on my own schedule, and having my kids home full-time really reinforced how important that flexibility was to me. That's when I came across Bonnie's website. I was intrigued but honestly a bit scared. I was worried that it might be selfish to invest in a course I didn't fully understand. I'd never even opened Illustrator before, and I wasn't sure I'd know enough to even get started. But watching Bonnie talk about surface design and her Immersion course gave me this gut feeling that it was the right decision. And it was! I have never in my life been so excited to learn. Immersion taught me so much about Adobe Illustrator and the huge world of surface design. It introduced me to a community of people who loved and wanted the same thing. And it managed to do so in a way that created no competition, only support. I feel so grateful to currently have a number of fabric collections out with both Carriage House Printery and Hawthorne Supply Company, as well as wallpaper collections with Loomwell Home Goods, and Everett Park. I am committed to continuing to grow, learn, and do "one thing a day," and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.
