Meet Katie O’Shea

Before discovering Immersion 2021, I was struggling as a freelance graphic designer. My kids were growing up and I needed a new focus. Plus, I wanted to bring some money into the household.

Even though I knew Illustrator and Photoshop, I learned so many new things in Immersion that I still use to this day. I started my own Etsy shop and dipped my feet into surface pattern design with Spoonflower. One of my designs, a California Poppy pattern placed in one of the top 20 designs for one of their contests. It opened my eyes to the possibilities of licensing and that people might actually enjoy my work!

Today, I am not only licensing my work with wallpaper and a major fabric company but I am also a full-time in-house designer for a home decor and women's accessory brand. If I had not taken Immersion, I am not sure where I'd be at this point in my mid-50's. I will always be grateful for taking Immersion and to Bonnie Christine for her dedication to making my dream career a reality.
