Meet Ilka Zuijderland Varnes

Before I started with Surface Pattern Design, I worked as a Graphic Designer for a tourism company for the last 12 years. When Covid hit, I was furloughed, and I took the opportunity to change my focus and do something else. 

I saw an ad for Surface Pattern Design and started researching more. I came across Bonnie Christine, read about her course, and was amazed at what I could learn. 

After taking Immersion, I was blown away. I saw Adobe Illustrator in a totally new light and learned so much; incredible! I was frozen at times because Imposter Syndrome took over, but listening to Bonnie helped me work through those feelings. 

I created my logo, just finished my website, started my business account on Instagram, and finished my portfolio. My dream is to license my art with some specific companies, start a project that is very dear to me, and pay my knowledge and wisdom forward.

Immersion gave me all the tools I needed to get here and to become more confident. It is my safety net to go back to.

To anyone who is unsure about taking the Immersion course, I can only say… DO IT! It will take you to the next level and you will learn so unbelievably much. 

I am very grateful that I found the Immersion course, and the cost of the course is a great investment and worth every penny.
