Meet Genna Blackburn

I  was a graphic designer and had been wanting to get into surface design for years but couldn't wrap my brain around where to begin. I felt stuck and overwhelmed. When Immersion began, I immediately felt welcomed into a wonderful group of like-minded artists. Bonnie broke everything down into manageable pieces and made every step of the course feel special and exciting. Even though I have over 15 years of experience using Adobe Illustrator, I still picked up gems and found those lessons so valuable. And knowing everyone else was working along with me motivated me to sit down and make my first pattern collection during the course. I also loved the video lessons and the live calls. 

The inspiration and motivation I experienced during the course propelled me forward and set the tone for my most productive and successful year up until that point. After Immersion 2020, I put a website and portfolio together, started pitching to clients, and signed three licensing contracts within the year! In 2021, I landed my first fabric collection contract, licensed with several additional companies, started teaching on Skillshare, and crossed the 6-figure mark with my business! I am excited to keep applying what I learned and to see what opportunities come up next.
