Meet Gargi Datta Banik

Immersion has given wings to my imagination. I have learned to turn my sketches into repeat patterns and also in the process have gained knowledge of a few new tools in Illustrator which I was not previously aware of! Bonnie is a great mentor who makes the learning process easy and fun. 

The best part of Immersion apart from the course itself was the ability to connect with fellow creatives. After Immersion my artwork got selected twice in a row at Frost Festival in Regina, I donated one of my art prints to a local art gallery, and I also became the Spotlight Designer Of The Month in Sketch Design Repeat's blog hosted by Shannon McNab.

Also, I have just started to manufacture sarees (Indian traditional garments worn by women) out of my repeating patterns. Now, I am looking forward to getting a licensing deal either in the fabric industry or in the stationery industry and strengthening the roots of my business.
