Meet Freya Riedlin
I am a full-time nonprofit lawyer. At the start of the pandemic, I was just finding my way back to making art as a creative outlet. I had never really heard of or thought about pattern design as an option, but when I learned about Immersion, I knew that this was a skill I wanted to have and would be so useful if I ever wanted to have a creative career! To be honest, I was skeptical at first, because it is such a financial investment, and I didn't know if it would be worth it. But boy did Bonnie deliver!
It was so helpful to have a course that helped me set goals, challenged me, and made me feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of every day. Immersion set me on a path toward surface design and taught me all the fundamentals I keep using today. Since taking Immersion, I've designed over 100 patterns, opened a Spoonflower shop, created a website and email list, and am looking forward to pitching my designs for licensing this year. Immersion has really been a catalyst for my creative practice and made the idea of working as an artist feel achievable for the first time.
