Meet Emily Beaton

The course transformed my personal life by helping me completely rewrite my sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and creative confidence! Not only do I feel confident in my creative endeavors, but I also feel more confident in other areas of my life. 

After being given the opportunity to take this course (I won the 5-day challenge!), I have been overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude. This has led to a desire to pay it forward, look for opportunities to be generous with my time, and encourage others on their creative journeys.

During the course, I volunteered to lead an Immersion Study Group. I never considered myself a leader, but felt called to take this courageous step. Doing so gave me a sense of pride and confidence in this newly-embraced leadership role.

Seeing examples of and being in the proximity of other successful surface designers made the idea of a career in surface design seem tangible, realistic, and attainable. This led me to transform my fear into action and launch a creative studio, designing my first two stationery collections and setting up an online store! 

The Immersion course transformed the way I think about my career path. It brought forward the possibility of imagining my creative career as a counterpoint to my farming career. Now my career trajectory feels more balanced and holistic because it is an expression of my whole self!
